POLLARD, John James – John passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the age of 60. Husband of the late Shirley. Dear father of Roy Pollard and Matthew Pollard. Brother of Melanie Williams (Pat) and Danielle Pollard (Chris). Predeceased by parents John and Marilyn Velma (Long) Pollard. He had several nieces and nephews and many friends and will sadly be missed. He was an avid outdoorsman from childhood, and passed that passion to his children, often taking them fishing, hiking, and camping trips. He also often competed in the Salmon Derby, ranking on the leadership boards for off shore trout fishing. Later he loved to partake in other hobbies such as metal detecting, recyling scrap metal and even smelting some of the metal down into bars. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He trained in Calgary and performed Peace Keeping duties in Cyprus. He went to the Ontario College of Trades, and earned his certificate in Plumbing, later classifying at the highest rank of a master plumber, a skill he took great pride in.
