It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dad James (Jim) Arthur Milne on January 22, 2024, at Meadowood Manor personal care home.

James is survived by his stepchildren, Bill (Danielle) Kim, Robert and Karen and his grandsons, Steven and Matthew (Jackie) and by his children from a previous marriage, Bonnie (husband Brad and family) Patsy and family. Shannon (Gary and family). His two sisters Carol Boutet and family and Arlene Da Silva and family, Brother-in-law Lloyd Craddock (Glenda and family), and sister-in-law Lorraine Sigurdson and family along with Grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and other loved family and friends.

James was predeceased by his parents James and Verna Milne, partner Brenda Kerr, brother Jack Milne, brother-in-in-laws and sister in laws, Garney Boutet, Doug Willis, Wally and Joyce Sereacki, Ray and Bev Mitenko, Murray Craddock, Son-in-law Heinz Bergen and nephew Raymond Mitenko.

Dad was born in Winnipeg on May 22,1936. He served with the Canadian Army Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) airborne as a paratrooper and was stationed in Germany, Dad was also a member of NATO and received the special service medal.

Dad was involved for many years, along with our mom with the International War Veterans Alliance (IWVA), him as President and Mom as Treasure. They made many trips to the United States with the IWVA where they made many friends. Dad and mom also like to take bus trips to casinos in Manitoba and the U.S.

Dad retired from the City of Winnipeg’s Operation department where he received many awards for his safe driving record.

Dad also volunteered at Deer Lodge Hospital to call bingo.

Our dad was a man of integrity. Humble, kind and sweet, he was loved and respected.

Our family would like to thank all the staff at Meadowood Manor personal care home for there outstanding care.

Cremation has taken place, and a private gathering will be held later date.
