The family of Duncan Henry Toset is saddened to announce his sudden passing at the age of 93 on April 10, 2024 at the Hogarth Riverview Manor with his family by his side.

Duncan was born in Nipigon House, Ontario by Jackfish Island in Lake Nipigon to his parents John and Kathleen Toset. Duncan was a proud member of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) for 7 years and was discharged in 1955. Duncan was highly recognized as the best grader/bulldozer operator in Armstrong. He worked for Domtar, Marcri Logging, Buchanan and Whitesand First Nation. He finally retired at the age of 82. Duncan resided in Hogarth Manor in the long term care until his passing. His daughters Celina and GeeGee and granddaughter Mckaylah (AKA. Business women) and great granddaughter Taylor were there everyday making sure he was well taken care of, going for walks and hair cuts. Duncan always told stories about his life on these outings. One of his kids was always there to visit him. Duncan enjoyed his evening rides with his wife and family. They always went to pick up Ashton (AKA. The Rat) He enjoyed puttering around the yard and fixing anything broken. He liked mowing his lawn to his standard. He loved his family dinners for special occasions.

Duncan is survived by his brother Nils (Marie), his children, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Duncan is predeceased by loving wife Louise, his parents, his sons Brian and Joseph, his grandsons Taylor and Jonathan and granddaughter Tiffany, brother Harry and sister in law Patricia.
A prayer service will be held on Saturday April 13, 2024 at 11:00am at Sargent and Son, led by Father Gerry McDougall, and then in Armstrong at Our Lady of Snows on Sunday at 4:00pm. Funeral services will be on Monday April 15, 2024 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Luncheon will be held at Whitesand First Nation Multiplex.
