Laurie Edward Keller was born in Vancouver on May 19, 1930, the youngest son and fifth child of Dr. William Harold and Laura Elizabeth Keller. 
He attended Bayview Elementary School and graduated from Kitsilano High School in 1949. 
In his early 20’s Laurie joined the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry and was reviewed by Princess Elizabeth in 1951. As a young man he also helped lay railroad track for the Pacific Great Eastern Railway (precursor of BC Rail). 
He worked in the Treasury Department of Canadian Pacific Airlines and other departments before 
leaving the air industry to become a commissionaire. As commissionaire, Laurie provided security 
services at BC Tel and Vancouver General and Shaughnessy Hospitals. 

In the 1960-70’s Laurie coached the Renfrew Trojans community football teams. A talented amateur historian, he was a great storyteller of famous historical battles and events. 
In the 1960’s he bought waterfront property on Mayne Island, where he continually worked to improve his beach access and living accommodations. It was there that Laurie hosted many memorable family boating/fishing trips and summer “Keller Days”. 
In 1986 Laurie married Erlinda and they enjoyed several trips to the Philippines to stay with her extended family.  
He passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024 at the age of 93. 
Laurie will be fondly remembered as a fun-loving and easy-going uncle by nieces Julia (Keller) Berry and her husband Ken Berry, Vickie McLeod, nephews Douglas Keller, Bruce McLeod and his wife, Betty McLeod. There are also two great nieces and two great nephews as well as four great great nieces and four great great nephews.
