In Loving Memory of Joseph Harvey Yvonne

1943 – 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Yvonne Jr., announce his passing at Shannex-Bridgeview Hall, Miramichi, on July 9, 2024, at the age of 81.

Born in Sydney, Cape Breton, NS, on June 9, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor Yvonne.

Joe is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kay Yvonne; son, Ken (Paula) Yvonne; daughter, Debbie Yvonne; step-daughter, Carrie (David) Bayerle; step-sons: Troy (Tina) Vautour, and Jerry Vautour; sisters: Miriam (late Charles) Porter, and Debbie (John) Gough; brother, Billy (Barb) Yvonne; grandchildren: Alicia (Alex) Pate, Alex (Kayla) Yvonne, Christopher Henriksen, Mary, and Peter Bayerle; great-grandchildren: Harrison, Sullivan, and Theodore Pate, and Aiden and Madison Yvonne.  He was predeceased by his parents; and step-son, Peter Wilson.

Joe loved his 14 years in the Military in the Queens Own Rifles, PPCLI, and as a Peacekeeper in Cyprus.  He loved helping people and successfully operated several service stations in Chatham.

Joe’s love of soccer led him to coach JMH High School (boys and girls), and also senior men’s teams for more than 20 years.  He was inducted into the Miramichi Sports Wall of Fame in 2013 for his dedication to the sport.

By request of the family there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Interment will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Staff at Bridgeview Hall, and the Doctors and Staff at the Miramichi Regional Hospital.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
