It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald George Cruickshank, in Victoria, BC. Born in Souris, Manitoba, Don lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Terry; his children, Sherri (Doug), Wayne (Irene), Kelly (Darrell), and his beloved grandson, Damon. He is also remembered by his twin brother Ron (Donna), his sister Barb, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Muriel and John, and his sister, Joyce.
A distinguished member of the Armed Forces, MWO Cruickshank retired after 32 years of service. He served with the 1st Battalion Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and The Scottish Regiment. His military career was more than a job; it was his second family.
Following his retirement, Don found joy and fulfilment in his life on Vancouver Island, where he embraced the local community and cherished his passion for golf. He made many friends and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Don’s name.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Rest in peace, Don.https://www.legacy.com/ca/obituaries/timescolonist/name/donald-cruickshank-obituary?id=56069642
