Alvin Clifford MacKay, 87, of Port Williams, Kings County, NS passed away on February 10, 2023 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS following a tragic accident in his home. Born in Foxbrook, Pictou County, NS he was the son of the late Alvin MacKay and Edna (Marshall) MacKay.
Alvin was a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, serving in the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) as a paratrooper then as a member of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regime) of Canada. He later became a welder and owned and operated a welding business.
Alvin is survived by his sisters, Eileen Turner and Evva (Ivan) Melvin, brother John (Alice) Saunders, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Claudia Esther (Levy) MacKay, brothers David, George and Charles Mackay, William Saunders and sister Janet Vance.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. Burial will take place in the Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, Kings County, NS, at a later date.
Donations, in memory, may be made to charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
