HAMILTON, Charles Wesley “Wes”

of Angus, passed away peacefully, at his home,

on Monday, February 17th 2025 in his 97th year. 

Beloved husband of the late Denise.

Father of the late Carole Hamilton (Klaus) and Andre (Patti).

Cherished grandfather of Taylor (Kailee) and Blake.

Dear great-grandfather of Owen, Emily and Addison.

Remembered by his sister Rachel Ballarin.

Predeceased by his brother Perry and sisters Grace and Juanita.

Wes was a loving and lifetime friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Special thanks to Karen Baker, the McDonalds crew and Wes’s 

“special angel” Jessica Fisher, all who made Wes’s days brighter.

At Wes’s request, cremation has taken place.

A celebration of Wes’s life will take place at a later date.

Born 27 February 1928, Doaktown, NB, Served 32 years as Pilot, Paratrooper, Grunt, and Training Specialist.

Married, two Children, Wife 69 years passed 1 Jan 22, Daughter 68yrs (Doctor) Germany, Son 67 NB, 2 Grandson’s, one GGrandson(6yrs), Twin GGDaughters.(2yrs)

(1)At age 20 I enlisted at 6 PD in Toronto on the 15 November 1948, after reading an article in the Toronto Star weekly about the “Airborne” military training at CJATC (Canadian Joint Air Training Centre) at Rivers Manitoba. Airborne mainly consumed my military life.

(2)After basic training I joined the PPCLI in Curry Barracks April 1949.

(3)Trooped the Color with PPCLI in June 49.

(4)Exercise Eagle Northern Alberta.

(5) Jumped into Northway Alaska during Exercise “Sweetbriar.

(6) Trained with 2Bn PPCLI for Korea

(7)Posted to CJATC and trained as a Glider Pilot/Snatch-Pick-up Specialist.

(8)Went on to fly many different fixed wing military/civil rotary aircraft.

(9)Served one year in Korea with 4th Bn Canadian Guards/2nd Bn Black Watch.

(10)Served in Cypress during 1974 Turkish invasion.

(11) Served in West Germany 4CMBG four and a half years.

(12) Due to the exigencies of Service was Posted with five infantry/and/or training Units involving 19 locations, Two years with 1 PPCLI

(12) Final 8 and a half years with Training Development in CFB Borden. Retired 1980. On this day am in my 95th year. in reasonably fair health, plan to spend the winter w/my Sister in California.
