With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Marvin Delver Dyck on October 1, 2024. Marvin was born on December 15, 1940 in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. He lived a life filled with adventure, courage, and devotion. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Monika, who was his partner in life and love. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their children Corina, Karen (Kevan), and Michael (Donna). Marvin’s greatest joy was being a proud and loving Opa to his grandchildren: Tristan, Samuel, James, Mikaela, and Kyle. Marvin was predeceased by his father Peter, his mother Nettie, his two sisters, and eight brothers. Marvin proudly served in the Canadian Military for many years, where he received numerous honours, including a Medal of Bravery, in recognition of his valor and commitment to his country. His dedication and courage were an inspiration to all who knew him. Beyond his distinguished military career, Marvin was a man of many talents. He had a passion for creating beautiful woodwork, embroidery, gardening, fishing, and hunting. He found solace and happiness in the great outdoors, and cherished his time spent at Silence Lake, where he could embrace the tranquility and beauty of nature. Marvin’s shared wisdom, warmth, and countless memories will forever be treasured. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
