It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Captain Al Raby on 04 September 2024 after a short but fierce battle with stage 4 stomach cancer.
Born on 15 July 1964, Al joined the CAF in 1986, and served in the PPCLI until 2005 before embarking on a new career as an entrepreneur that took him and his family to sunny California.
Al was a loving husband to Shoko, a devoted father to his son Michael, and a steadfast brother to his two sisters, Suzanne and Catherine.
He was a fanatical long distance trail runner, and a compassionate friend and mentor to all those he worked with.
His great passion was ruck running, and he could be found tearing up the trails on Mount Diablo or tending his prize tomatoes in the local garden.
Al’s positivity and good nature will be missed by all who knew him.
