Pat was born in Hartney, Manitoba June 11, 1942 and entered Royal Roads Military College  in September, 1959. He graduated from RMC in 1963 and was posted to 

2  PPCLI at Edmonton, Alberta. In 1964, Pat married Carole Grover.  He and Carole had three daughters, Penny, Julie, and Jodie.

 During his time with 2 PPCLI he served as platoon commander, Depot Instructor, and Assistant Adjutant, qualified as a paratrooper, and participated in winter exercises with the US 101st Airborne in Alaska. 

Upon Pat’s release from the army in 1966, he entered the University of Alberta obtaining a Bachelor of Education. He filled positions in the Edmonton Public Schools System for 33 years as teacher through to school Principal and then to Staff Consultant in the System. His favorite role was as a teacher.

 Pat, Carole and family lived  near St. Albert  in Alberta ranching country. He often said that his daughters were better with horses than he was so he filled the role of barnyard hired hand and heavy lifter. 

Pat retired to Comox, Vancouver Island in 2001. He was an active member of the Classic Car Club in the Comox Valley and owned a Chevy “muscle car” as well as a large motorcycle.

Pat passed away in his sleep on June 11, 2024 just like a good soldier should.
